What is required for class?

Goal of the Oregon ATV Safety Youth Rider Endorsement Program

The two to three hour class is designed to provide you with the opportunity to receive the hands-on endorsement necessary to ride on public lands.

Objective of the Oregon ATV Safety Youth Rider Endorsement Program

You will demonstrate that you have the mental and physical skills necessary to meet the minimum hands-on standards to operate an ATV on public lands.

Evaluator Role

Your Evaluator will explain endorsement requirements, what mental and physical riding skills will be evaluated, and demonstrate the minimum rider standards being evaluated. The Evaluator will then evaluate your mental and physical ATV riding skills.

Endorsed ATV Safety Education Cards

After you successfully pass the evaluation of mental and physical riding skills, you will receive a temporary ATV Safety Education Card. Oregon Parks and Recreation will issue you a new All-Terrain Vehicle Safety Education Card with the endorsement within 30 days of completing the endorsement program.

Endorsement Not Guaranteed

Enrollment in the Oregon ATV Safety Youth Rider Endorsement Program class does not guarantee your evaluation will lead to a hands-on endorsement. A satisfactory rating must be achieved at each evaluation level to obtain an endorsement.
